- In a large bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, oil, and all the spices to make a thick marinade.
- Add the chicken breasts to the mix and coat well.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for deeper flavor).
- This is one of the most flavorful chicken breast recipes you’ll ever try!
Step 2: Preheat Your Clay Oven
- Fire up the Tandoor Morni CS02 – 24″ x 24″ Food Truck Oven using natural gas or propane.
- Preheat for 30–40 minutes until the interior walls of the tandoor oven are evenly hot.
- The CS02 is ideal for Tandoori Chickens with restaurant-style char and juicy texture.
Step 3: Skewer the Chicken
- Thread each marinated chicken breast onto a AS05 – Round- Tandoor Skewers – 36″, folding the meat if needed.
- Leave space between each piece for even cooking and airflow.
Step 4: Cook in the Tandoor
- Insert the skewers vertically into the hot tandoor.
- Cook for 10–12 minutes, turning once halfway through.
- The edges should char slightly while the inside stays tender.
- You’ll know your Tandoori Chicken is done when juices run clear and it smells heavenly!
Step 5: Serve It Hot
- Remove with heatproof gloves or tongs.
- Sprinkle chaat masala and lemon juice.
- Serve with mint chutney, naan, or as a topping in wraps and bowls.
Pro Tips for Perfect Tandoori Chicken
- Pound the chicken to even thickness for uniform cooking.
- Always marinate for at least 1 hour – it’s key in all chicken recipes.
- Add a pinch of kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) for that signature Indian aroma.
- Avoid overcooking – thin pieces dry out quickly, especially in a tandoor.
